A good story asks an important question, but a great story asks a thousand more. The Locus is a platform for U.S. political analysis that has its foundations in curiosity, with journalism fuelled by a desire to find answers.
The Locus began in 2017 but switched its focus to U.S. politics towards the end of 2019. Since then, we've formed strong relationships with experts in various fields, allowing us to provide our readers with information they can trust.
The Locus doesn't rely on any funding, so it's free from influences. On the occasion that a small amount of money is needed, it's provided by the team. Our voice is our voice, and we're proud of that.
In April 2020, we started our #WeNeedTrust campaign, in response to the media industry being, in many cases, a black box. Readers are told to have trust, without the means to verify what they read. The Locus wants to change that. Relevant transcripts will now be published alongside all articles that include interviews, so readers can see for themselves that quotes aren't being altered or taken out of context.
